Accelerator Programs for Social Ventures

Accelerator Description
Acara Acara, a program of the INSTITUTE ON THE ENVIRONMENT at the University of Minnesota, gives emerging entrepreneurs a chance to envision and launch successful social businesses. Since 2009, more than 300 students from 20 universities have participated in Acara’s programs, guided by mentors in academia and industry to collaboratively explore business concepts and implement sustainable solutions while developing their leadership skills.
Agora Partnerships Agora Partnerships is a global community of entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and individuals dedicated to using the power of business to effect positive change in their communities. We work only with early-stage entrepreneurs where the right kind of support can significantly accelerate their ability to create impact. Social Enterprise Accelerator at Duke (SEAD)
SEAD brings together interdisciplinary partners through a coordinated effort across Duke University and leverages institutional relationships and networks to create an integrated global health social entrepreneurship hub for diverse stakeholders across the globe. SEAD, in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the USAID Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN), mobilizes a community of practitioners, investors, policymakers, faculty, staff, and students to identify, assess, help develop, build capacity of, and scale solutions, technologies, and business models for healthcare delivery and preventive services in developing countries around the world. 
Social Innovation Incubator The Social Innovation Incubator helps start-up and entrepreneurial companies that are focused on creating innovations that benefit the environment and humanity by addressing significant and persistent social problems such as poverty, inequality, access to food and water, among many others.
UnLtd India We find, fund and support exceptional individuals whose ideas, passion and entrepreneurial skills can bring about long-term solutions to India's social problems.
Unreasonable Institute We get world-changing entrepreneurs what they need to scale their impact. Each year, we unite 10-30 entrepreneurs (called “Unreasonable Fellows”) from every corner of the globe to live under the same roof for six weeks in Boulder, Colorado. These entrepreneurs receive training from 50 world-class mentors, ranging from a Time Magazine Hero of the Planet, to the head of user experience at Google X, to an entrepreneur who’s enabled over 20 million farmers to move out of poverty. In the process, they form relationships with 25 investment funds, receive legal advice & design consulting, and pitch to hundreds of potential investors at the end of the Institute. Our goal is to accelerate these ventures so they can scale to meet the needs of at least one million people each.
