Timeline 2011-2012 Competition
(All times USA Eastern Time)
Wednesday, October 12th, 5:00 PM
First round summaries are due from entrants to the WJF.
October 13th - October 16th
WJF team categorizes plans and determines which summaries to accept into the competition.
October 17th
WJF announces which companies have been accepted into the competition. All companies not accepted into the competition will have their processing fee returned (minus Paypal Charges).
October 17-31st
WJF staff creates teams of judges for each plan.
Monday, November 1st
First round summaries will be distributed by the WJF to reading judges
Wednesday, December 5th
Scorecards for the first round summaries are due from the reading judges to the WJF
Friday, December 9th
The William James Foundation symposium is held. The results of the first round are announced, and qualifying teams are invited to submit full plans for the second round.
Monday, February 6th at 5:00 PM
Second round full plans are due from entrants to the WJF. This round is by invitation only.
Monday, February 20th
Second round full plans are distributed by the WJF to reading judges.
Monday, March 19th
Scorecards for second round full plans are due from the reading judges to the WJF.
Thursday, April 12th at 7:00 PM
Presentations by the Washington, DC Finalists at the Affinity Lab. This event is free and open to the public.
Friday, April 13th
Day one of our annual gathering. The morning will consist of private small group non-pitch meetings between finalists and advisors. The afternoon and evening are ticketed events, and will feature speeches, workshops, and presentations by the idea-phase finalists. More information at www.williamjamesfoundation.org/gathering.
Saturday, April 14th
Day two of our annual gathering. Workshops, panels, and speakers on sustianable business will be featured. Special presentations include our Green Grab event, as well as venture-phase finalists. More information at www.williamjamesfoundation.org/gathering.
